Diagnosis & Treatment

We routinely treat a range of skin conditions and diseases, but we’re always looking for the cause of skin problems, not just the cosmetic symptoms you may be experiencing on the surface of your skin.

Priority #1

Diagnostic Skin Care

Our first priority is to go over your health history, genetic background, lifestyle, and skincare regimen together, because often issues beneath the skin affect what you see on the surface.

The first question we always ask new patients usually surprises them.  It’s a simple one… “Why are you here?”

Perhaps you’ve heard about us from a friend or relative, or perhaps you’re looking for a specific treatment for your skin.  You may be looking for ways to reduce or eliminate the lines and wrinkles on your face.  You may be dealing with acne, sun damage, or any of a whole host of skin conditions.  Or you may have a question about a specific skin care product you’ve seen or heard about.

“Diagnostic” Skin Care

We’re a “diagnostic” skin care clinic.  So rather than offer a “menu of services” like a day spa, we operate much more like a doctor’s office.

So before we launch into ANY treatments, chemical peels, or light therapy, our first priority is to make a proper diagnosis of your skin.  We’ll go over your health history, genetic background, lifestyle, and skincare regimen together, because often medical conditions beneath the skin affect what you’re seeing cosmetically on the skin’s surface.

Treatment

After the initial exam and diagnosis, we discuss your current skin condition, including any medical issues, and suggest the specific treatments that are appropriate for you at this time.  Here are a few examples:

  • Skin resurfacing
  • Micropeels
  • Chemical peels
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Light therapy
  • Clinical pedicures

We start with the most immediate issues, like proper UVA/UVB protection, and work through your full skincare routine, even suggesting long-term lifestyle changes to maximize the youthfulness of your skin.

Education

We’ve found that there is an over-abundance of misleading and confusing information available on the internet about skin care and skin health.  As such, educating our clients is a regular part of each visit.

We’re passionate about the long-term health of your skin.  Our process takes time, and we insist on allowing for as much time as is necessary for your specific situation.  In fact, many of our new clients are surprised at how much one-on-one time we give them answering any and all of their questions.

When you’re serious about the long-term health of your skin, and you’re willing take an active role in keeping it healthy, there is no substitute for good education and advice from professionals.
